With the stay home measures being in place for a few months now, working from home is the new norm for those of us lucky enough to be able to do so. Not having to wake up extra early or dealing with the morning rush hour are some of the things we definitely enjoy skipping out on but one thing that we definitely should not skip is our skincare routine.
Staying indoors does not mean that our skin is not exposed to dirt and dust, it simply means that our skin is not exposed to as much dirt and dust. Aside from dust and dirt, something else we should be concerned about is our exposure to ‘blue light’.
Working from home has also increased the time we spend in front of screens and as you might have known light emitted from our screens can be harmful not only to our eyes but also our skin as it can cause our skin to age faster. Our skin might become duller and drier and have more wrinkles! It could cause redness and pigmentation as well.
Besides, caring for your skin can uplift your mood while you work from home - that happy feeling when you walk out of the spa after a good facial treatment? Why not replicate it at home?
Here are 3 simple steps for a stay-home skincare routine:
1. Wash your face twice daily
Sebum, dirt and dust in the air can still accumulate on your skin even if you are at home the whole day! Hence, it's still important to wash your face twice daily. Check out our range of facial cleansers here if you need options!
2. Use a gentle face scrub
Give your skin a boost and remove dead skin cells by using a facial scrub twice weekly. Orgaid Facial Polish is a gentle, organic scrub which contains crystallized honey to exfoliate and heal the skin. It also contains brown rice to help remove dead cells and sunflower oil to moisturize and soften skin while Jojoba oil helps to reduce skin redness.
3. Moisturize, moisture, and moisturize.
One of the reasons for aging and wrinkles is, after all, a lack of moisture in our skin so don't leave this step out. No matter your skin type, it's important to moisturise everyday. Whether you have dry skin, oily skin or look for a moisturiser with anti-ageing properties, we've got it covered in our range of moisturisers so check them out here!
And for those of you who want to do something extra or just need a little bit of a self-relaxation time, applying a sheet mask or a clay mask can go a long way to achieving your goal!
Check out range of sheet masks and clay mask here. We have sheet masks from Orgaid or CHOBs which you can apply for daily or use a few times a week. And for those who prefer clay masks, we've also got a selection to choose from Aidilic, Handmade Heroes and Saffron & Rose. These can be used twice weekly to detox your skin and give it a boost.
Spending some time for your skincare routine is a form of self-care and can help to boost your mood and break the monotony of daily life at home. You can use the time to try new beauty products that you've been eyeing or even learn new tips on skincare!
